TLOTA:
I’m James Faraci The Last Of The Americans, the views I’m about to express are that of my own and some of yours. And welcome to another edition of “Connect The Plots” (Cut to a scene of James trying to connect certain things together like the theatrical version of “Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers” & “Halloween: H20”, All the movie adaptations of Stephen King, Superman Returns to the original Salkind Superman movies, the first three X-Men movies to the newer ones and the “Wolverine” & “Deadpool” movies before cutting to James strapped down in a strait jacket all the while a kid sings “Connect The Plots La-La-La!” before panning down to see anything that might have a minor connection spell the words “Connect The Plots” before cutting to scenes from “Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines,” “Terminator: Salvation,” “Terminator: Genisys”," and “Terminator: Dark Fate” as James does a voiceover.)
TLOTA (V.O.):
With all the different movies that came out that either tried to be THE sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day and either miss the mark or tries to rewrite the franchise to fit their desires to change it and put either the first two out of continuity or at worst make their movie the ending to the franchise, and while connecting these plots to the first two is a nearly impossible task, today I choose to something different. I am going to cherry-pick things that I liked from these movies, change moments that I felt didn’t work, or not use them, and connect this with the first two in a satisfying way. (Cut to James physically)
TLOTA:
So let’s start off with how I would start the movie (Cut to scenes from the Terminator movies after “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” as James does a voiceover.)
TLOTA (V.O.):
We start off in Guatemala, post Terminator 2, as we see the T-800 getting ready to kill John Connor, and instead of that happening, we hear a second T-800 shout out “Get Down!” as it’s shot and John realizes that this isn’t the same one that earlier helped destroy “Skynet.” John and the second T-800 fight off the one set to kill John, and, in the crossfire, Sarah Connor is killed. The two T-800s continue to fight as John finds himself accidentally finding Kate Brewster as both are sent to the point where it has been ten years since John and Sarah Connor have taken down Cyberdyne, and sure enough, a new enough version of Terminator; the T-X has followed them and with the two now on the run, they find themselves returning to the moment that the Original T-800 is looking for Sarah in 1984. However now with two T-800s (One being the one that was meant to kill Sarah Connor and one that is out to protect John Connor, Sarah Connor and Kate Brewster) and now we have Kyle Reese joining our heroes and a T-1000 is now in the mix, joining the Original T-800, who is trying to kill Sarah, and the T-X who is trying to kill Kate and John. Who is now looking to assist both in killing our heroes, speaking of the heroes make it through the time stream to the exact moment after the end of “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.” (Cut to James Physically)
TLOTA:
And t that was just the first act! (Cut to scenes from the Terminator movies after “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” as James does a voiceover.)
TLOTA (V.O.):
We soon find ourselves ten years later as John and Kate have been dating, Sarah and Kyle are still in as much love as they were when they first met, and the T-800 who goes by the name “Cameron” meant to protect them has been doing so, taking missions and giving missions to our heroes, making sure that they can keep Skynet at bay. Meanwhile we’re introduced Dani an engineer who works for Kate’s father for a project called “Legion Genisys” which is meant for Cyberwarfare and sure enough, The T-800, T-1000, and TX that has been trying to kill Sarah, John, Kate and “Cameron” have been putting in the source code of “Skynet” to make sure it becomes one super AI program that will finish what it was meant to do. Making Judgement Day happen and wiping out humanity. It’s here that Kyle hears about “Legion Genisys” and decides to head on his own to face the project. However, Kyle arrives just as Sarah and John were coming to rescue and Recruit Dani when we discover that the T-800, T-100 and TX have merged into an Uber-Terminator, very similar to the T-5000 in “Genisys” seeing what has happened, Dani is taken just as “Legion Genisys” finally comes on-line and the countdown is on as we find yet another person on the good side but knows of Skynet’s intentions because he was transformed into a Terminator with his brains placed in a T-800 body. “Cameron” finds this out and orders everyone to fall back. “Cameron” meets with this person, whom we will call “James,” and tells them that the people who created Skynet created him as an experiment to see if they can control humans by taking humanity out of the equation. Essentially, this is what convinces Dani that if this is what her work is leading to, she is the only one who can stop it and Judgment Day. Though “Cameron” thinks that Dani is misguided in her thought process, since there are hours before the launch and therefore the rise of Skynet and Judgment Day. Things immediately go wrong as Skynet discovers the heroes' base and begins its attack. Kyle Reese and “Cameron” sacrifice their lives to get Dani, Sarah, Kate, and John out of harm’s way. Kyle, looking at the same thing before he went through time to stop, is helping him save the people closest to him, knowing the Irony. “Cameron” says, “You’ll be back!” However, knowing that Skynet has jumped the gun in terms of the final battle for humanity, it tries to become self-aware, but it is not aware of what our heroes are up to. (Cut to James physically)
TLOTA:
And now we come to the final act and the closure that was destroyed by these sequels. (Cut to scenes from the Terminator movies after “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” as James does a voiceover.)
TLOTA (V.O.):
With the clock running out for both our heroes and for Skynet, Sarah and Dani team up with “James” for one last fight against Skynet and the Uber-Terminator. Dani is using the central processor unit from “James” as for James and Sarah, they're taking on the Uber-Terminator. Sarah tells John and Kate to go to “Safe Haven,” where those like them wait for their leader, John knowing what that means. For his mom and the rest of the people he called his family, were gone. And sure enough, Sarah and James sacrificed themselves to destroy the Uber-Terminator and Dani with her last breath, ultimately fails in stopping Skynet, and in the aftermath we see the war going on and this movie ends with Skynet’s Time Traveling Plans beginning with Skynet sending back a perfected T-800 and the Kyle Reese going through perfectly, then John saying goodbye to Kate as he jumps in with a bomb powerful enough to destroy the device and destroys Skynet in the process. We then see years pass as peace and humanity have been restored, Kate now being a mother to the world and to the twins she had with John, telling them about their adventures to how they got to this point from their grandma’s view. (Cut to James physically)
TLOTA:
So does this make the idea of a “Terminator” sequel post “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” and their attempts to clean up the continuity to make sure that certain things were to happen for and to Sarah and John Connor? And to the characters we know and want to stop Skynet? NO! (Cut to scenes from the Terminator movies after “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” as James does a voiceover.)
TLOTA (V.O.):
I’m sorry, no matter how you try to add onto what was great by “There is no fate than we make for ourselves,” meaning we can change our fate from what we are destined for, something better, and then say in the sequels, “Oh, just kidding, LOL!” You take away something that was meant to be philosophical and replace it with something saying “Our fates are sealed, we’re meant to die and go to war only to die,” basically rendering everything that the original works as moot! No matter how the sequels try to close the franchise on enough of a note to set the fate of our characters, no matter how we try to change things, the world will find a way to screw us over to make sure that what it wants will get it anyway it can. NO! I say we can make and change our fates to what we want through work and dedication, through fighting for what we believe without destroying ourselves in the process, through believing in ourselves, a protective higher power, and the one thing we seem to want to rid ourselves of “Common Sense!” Maybe with some time and some thoughts about to either follow up or properly reboot it with the correct closure point of either Judgement Day or sometime after the end of the war or stopping the war before it happens. If this supposed reboot does that and becomes a one-and-done, it will just be fine with me! (Cut to James physically.)
TLOTA:
And next up is the thirteenth anniversary, but what will... (A loud thud is heard). The Hell is going on? OR-HAC, What’s happening?
OR-HAC (Audio only):
A metal-suited man wants to fight.
TLOTA: Okay, let’s get ready to fight. I’m James Faraci The Last Of The Americans and that’s my opinion!
